Women in Transition
Essex County runs a Women in Transition (WIT) program, a minimum and pre-release facility dedicated to the female population. WIT provides programs and services to prepare women for life after incarceration by assisting with the reintegration process. Various programming components include individual and group counseling, education, employment, and community service assignments.

Care Continuum Coordinators
The site has specialized expertise in hiring Care Continuum Coordinators (CCCs) responsible for individualized case management during and after release.

STAR Program
The STAR Program strives to reduce recidivism by streamlining access to resources throughout the county, ensuring program accountability, and allowing participants to successfully navigate systems, including treatment, education, jobs, and family reintegration.

Opioid Treatment Program licensure
The site is a licensed Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). Essex County will provide visitors with the experience and process of applying for and becoming approved for OTP licensure through SAMHSA and the DEA. The site will provide mentees with the policies and procedures specifically created to meet the regulations of a correctional OTP.
