The site maintains community prescriptions and does new inductions just before release. However, Chesterfield County is reviewing its processes and protocols for administering new inductions of all medications at intake. It expects to implement the new process upon completion of the review process.
“This was a well-planned site visit. Chesterfield is so innovative in their thinking. Their openness in sharing both successes and challenges made the experience especially meaningful. I appreciated seeing how they utilize various medications, each with its own specific procedures. Observing group sessions and hearing directly from participants added a valuable perspective, and seeing the makeup of the treatment team provided essential context. The visit was so engaging that I wished there had been more time to shadow team members and see their work in greater depth.
